Wedding Photography - The Rocks Sydney

My Ratings (9 out of 10)

Wedding Photography - The Rocks Sydney

I am featuring this area of Sydney again as it is endless in terms of opportunities for your Sydney wedding photographer. The bridge stairs are located between Observatory Hill and Cumberland Street Sydney. They are two, large, undercover stairwells that are joined by a long underground tunnel. Photographs for your wedding day taken here will achieve elements of architecture combined with beautiful lighting.

It is a great place if the rain sets in on you and you need cover to work under. There are not many places in Sydney that offer this much cover from the wet weather. A wedding photographer with some experience should be able to spend around an hour here and pull some awesome images.

There is a certain time of the year in April when the sun sets and the rays will beam straight down the tunnel for about 5 minutes. It doesn't happen often but when it does, your photographer will have to be quick.

Curzon Hall - Reception

My Ratings (9 out of 10)

Reception Photography at Curzon Hall.

A gorgeous Building inside and out. Some photography issues with a distant ceiling. This will tend to be a softer light which makes photos of Curzons guests something special. One of the tricks i like to use possibly during the bridal waltz. I set up an off camera flash and aim it at a table cloth (away from guests) which creates a soft box effect and skim the light across the dance floor for an interesting look.

The candles can be very handy.

This third shot was taken before the guests had arrived. the bride and groom were taking a break as most do toward the reception end of their Sydney wedding day. I shot 6 portraits of this entire room with the idea of stitching them together to create one image. I've photographed this room before with a wide angle lens but i wanted to try something different.
I couldn't pull the bend out of the floor at the foreground of this picture but after studying it further i noticed a smile appearing... Then i saw the nose and then the eyes. If you look closer you can make out the 2 eyes are the windows on either side. The mouth being the curve in the floor at the bottom of the picture and the nose could either be the cake table or the centre arch at the back of the room...  A smiling Curzon hall!

Martin Place - Wedding Photography - Sydney

My Ratings (9 out of 10)

Martin Place -  Wedding Photography - Sydney

If you are looking for a location in Sydney CBD to have wedding photos taken. A popular spot is Martin Place. Martin Place, formerly known as Moore Street,  is a pedestrian mall in the central business district of Sydney. It can be quite busy at times so background people are going to be something to be careful of. This can be an advantage too if you want to create some movement etc. Every doorway is great for couples to hide in and capture some simple shots using the doorways of the past. Parking can be tricky and if your arriving by Hire car or Limo, you will need to be dropped off in most cases and pickup up when you are finished. Because i often take my Honda Forza to the city, i have great storage and park anywhare capabilities.

Photography at Bridge lane Sydney

My Ratings (9 out of 10)

Bridge lane - Photography
If your looking to achieve something different than green gardens and grassy backdrops in your wedding photos, this is it. Located behind the establishment hotel in Sydney is Bridge lane. Only a small little lane but the light that falls in here is as sweet as it gets. The tall buildings on either side give a great shelter from wind and direct sunlight. This is a great spot to have your limo pull into for a celebration drink and start your photography with some back alley shots.
